The '''Mages' Guild of [[Nazivonema]]''' has existed since soon after the city's founding. Currently led by Guildmaster [[Edhro]], a [[Karis]] transmuter, it is a fairly standard guild in most respects. There are some differences, mostly arising from being located in Nazivonema. For one, they are not allowed to deny membership to anybody without cause -- just being a [[lich]], for instance, is no reason to not allow someone to join the guild. For another, they allow non-guild members to use their library for a fee. Most of these rules were set in place by the city's [[Council of Merchants]].

== Fees and services ==
Dues for the guild are 10 GP per month for a full membership, or 2 GP per month for library access. One-time access to the library costs 1 SP per hour. Dues-paying members have full access to guild research facilities, as well as the option of renting laboratory space for long-term projects. They are also provided with services including free document transcription (not including spell scrolls), messenger services, and one free [[cure light wounds]] spell per month at the local temple of [[Malarik]] in case of a laboratory accident. All other services from priests of Malarik are at a 10-percent discount.

== Local wizard schools ==
The guild also has a special relationship with the [[Serrian School of Wild Magic]]. Serrian is located here at least in part because no other city would accept them, but nonetheless students there are considered members of the guild and are free to use its facilities as long as they don't actively practice [[wild magic]] within the guildhall or library. Students at [[Tarkus Academy]] also have free use of the guild library, and get a 3 GP discount on membership.
