Though she never married, she has a daughter, [[Shimwell Maranthis|Shimwell]], whom she adopted after finding her on the doorstep of the family's estate. Shimwell, who is half-Elven, brought no end of joy to Petrell's life until that fateful day when she foresaw the death of Petrell's father, [[Evandon Maranthis|Evandon]]. After the premonition came true, Shimwell fled the town, never to return.
