These towers were built during the [[Wars of Arin]] to send signals from the north to the [[White Army]]'s base in [[Hanmer]]. They were stationed about a day's ride apart along the [[King's Road]] from Hanmer all the way to the [[Thair Mountains]], so they also often serve as safe havens along the road between towns along that route.

With the wars ended, the towers have fallen into disrepair. The ones in [[Kellan]] are still occasionally kept up, but in [[Hanaellan]] they are pretty much neglected entirely.
