The Greek god Atlas is the patron of physical strength. As one might expect, he is massively built. His great strength is drawn from the Prime Material Plane itself. When on the Prime there is nothing he can't lift, nothing he can't bend, and nothing he can't break. If he gives his word on a matter, he will keep it even unto death.

Among the people of the northwestern Ardann, Atlas is said to be responsible for bearing the heavens on his shoulders. He is also said to attempt to pass this responsibility on to another when he can, by trickery if necessary.

Note: Atlas originally appeared in this form in Deities and Demigods for the AD&D game from TSR, with additional information from the TV show Hercules. His use here is for the purposes of providing context for the campaign only.
