This adventure involved most of the group originally led by Corelda but now more-or-less led by Zin Findel gathering back together after separating for a handful of adventures. As the group was still awaiting the return of Corelda and several others from Jar-Kahn, they remained in Nazivonema.

Gathering loose threads

After completing their investigation into the theft of Terylla's medallion, Gillek and his companions were considering their next course of action, when old acquaintance Allegra Brownstoke arrived with her companions, Ashton, her bodyguard Duncan, and Mums. They were filled in on the information they'd learned, and were given a tour of the city by Frank.

George and Koku returned from Hanmer the next day. Koku's presence was problematic, as the party knew that Duncan, a paladin, would not approve of her presence, and presumed that Frank would not either, given that she had been broken out of jail by George with the help of Zin Findel. The two were put up in a safe house by the thieves' guild, and George began learning the art of thievery from Koku.

Vel and Villea also arrived that day carrying the rod of security that the party had picked up along with The Box. Villea went to her temple so that the Allied Temples would be aware of the temple of Kuraliskar located on Ondolor Island, as she was not bound by the agreement to keep its location secret. Vel, already intending to turn herself in, met Thalvorn on her way out of town. When he mentioned that he had been sent to find her, she allowed him to accompany her back to Shael i'Vor to face the music for her escape from custody.

Overdue companions

The next morning, Koku and George set out for Vesqui, trying to find Josiah GentleSeed and Shimwell Maranthis, who had set out there several days earlier to try and find Koroz and question him about the medallion. While they were gone, Molbo and his companions returned on flying carpets from their mission.

The next day, Koku and George reached the town of Astyan. There, they met an alchemist named Sarlon, who was there to find one of his suppliers, Whimbley, who he found was not in town. Sarlon and his two cohorts, Milo and Clint, took to the road with the two, but they encountered a group of githyanki. The githyanki told them that they had killed Josiah and were holding Shimwell hostage. In exchange for her return, they wanted the rod of security. The group turned back for Nazivonema to let the other party members know.

Meanwhile, those members made plans to pick up their mission for Tox against Mozenrath in hopes that they might also be able to find Terylla's medallion. The party was also joined by Bella Dona, a shadow mage who had some knowledge of the dark magic used by Mozenrath.

Tracking and making tracks

When the others returned, Zin decided that she would attempt to contact the Astral Rangers, an organization that specializes in tracking on the Astral Plane, in an attempt to locate Shimwell. The group then used the Red Dragon Inn's transport system to travel to Rogariel, where Zin would meet them later. Once there, Glenthalos booked passage to Agrabah for the group on the S.S. Impresa captained by Medina.

In Sigil, Zin made contact with Ojhibe, an Astral Ranger and friend of Tolmyr. She hired him and two others, Dylan and Eliot -- Ojhibe would search for Shimwell while Dylan tried to find Vel and the rod and Eliot shadowed the rest of the party. Meanwhile, Allegra headed for Agrabah, intending to meet the party there.

Shipboard hijinks

The boat set off, and as usual the party caused trouble. Sarlon was berated for smoking, while Nevyn started a food fight in the galley. Zin chased Nevyn, intending to confine him to his quarters to keep him out of further mischief. Nevyn climbed the mast, but was tossed out by the ship's lookout. Nevyn caught hold of the rigging, and Koku attempted to climb up after him, but Nevyn shook it, causing her to fall. Finally, Nevyn comes down, and both he and Koku are taken to the sick bay.

Zin, Frank and Villea convinced Medina there will be no more trouble, but Nevyn put the lie to it very quickly. He antagonized his guard, drawing him into his cell, then slipped past him and back onto the deck. He again began to climb the rigging, and after Koku again had trouble with the rigging, George cast grease onto the mast. Unfortunately, it triggered a wild surge, turning the entire mast to grease, which spread all across the deck, knocking people and supplies overboard. The only casualties were George himself, who drowned, and the ship, which was now dead in the water.

Chasing Nevyn

While Sarlon and Bunsen, the ship's cleric, tested the greasy substance, Zin dragged Nevyn onto the Astral Plane to keep him out of the way. However, Nevyn evaded her, only to wind up in the hands of the githyanki, who warned him that they had three days to give them the rod. They then pushed him through a color pool and into the city of Imor. Zin followed, got the same message, and followed him through. Eventually, Zin caught up with Nevyn, who climbed the obelisk at the temple of Apollo to escape her, but was caught by Imorian security when he defaced the obelisk by drawing a smiley-face on it. He attempted to tumble off, but injured himself, allowing Zin to tie him up and bring him back to the ship.

As Zin attempted to find the ship on the Prime, leaving Nevyn in the Astral Plane, the githyanki found him and implanted a magical tracking device inside his body. He told them that Vel had the rod, and they set off in pursuit of her, telling him that if he was lying, or if he revealed his betrayal, the tracking device would explode, killing him.

Sarlon and Bunsen discovered that the grease could be used as fuel, and the ship once again started on its way to Agrabah. Medina told the party that, unless they paid for the destroyed mast, they would need other transportation for the return trip. Zin and Nevyn rejoined the group, and they finally completed the journey.

In Agrabah

The group located Tox, and he agreed to consider their offer to help in going against Mozenrath. The party also met Gamal, a local sha'ir, who joined them. Meanwhile, Dylan contacted Zin, telling her that he had located the githyanki stronghold where Shimwell was being held. Tolmyr and Koku returned to the Astral with Dylan to gather information on the fortress. Dylan provided a distraction while the others attempted to reach the entrance, but Tolmyr was unable to make it before the two were attacked by githyanki. Koku was knocked out and thrown off while Tolmyr was captured.

Dylan went to rescue Koku, and most of the party went with Zin to the Astral while Bella stayed behind with Nevyn. Nevyn ran off and ran into Sarlon and Frank on a tour of the city. On the Astral, Gamal created an illusionary wall to hide the group while Zin talked to the githyanki. Negotiations did not go well, Zin was killed by a lightning bolt, and battle was joined. However, Dylan quickly returned with Koku, and the group again returned to Sigil.

In the City of Doors, the group ran into Naimos, and after he gave them an update they resupplied for their assault on the githyanki fortress and visited a diviner named Hagar to ensure Shimwell's condition. Upon returning to the RDI, they are given a message from the githyanki originally meant for Zin, demanding the contents of the rod of security in exchange for Shimwell. With Zin no longer available, the party decided to recruit another mage, hiring a tiefling enchanter named Jezebel on Hagar's recommendation.

The raid

Naimos and Glenthalos approached the githyanki stronghold invisibly, but they found no sign of the githyanki or of Shimwell. Instead, they discovered a color pool, which Jezebel felt would take them to the city of Ribcage in the Outlands. As the group was passing through the pool, they saw Shimwell being held in chains. While Jezebel attempted to ascertain the githyanki's plans, Molbo immediately went on the attack, disrupting the enemy enough for Naimos to grab Shimwell and bring her back to the Astral. After some hard fighting, the city guard of Ribcage rode out to break things up, with Gamal bribing them to ensure the party's safe retreat with their casualties. Once back in Sigil, everyone was healed, and the party returned to Nazivonema, where they rejoined Corelda and their other comrades.
