The Hume

The Hume are a race of humanoids that may or may not still exist on Ardrana. They are known to be taller than humans, seven feet or so on average, with a somewhat slimmer build, skin of a light yellowish-green color, and dark green, blue, or violet hair and eyes.

Known for their great wisdom and knowledge, they were once sought by many who wished to gain it for themselves. However, The Hume tend to be solitary creatures, not liking contact with others, so they formed conclaves in places that were inaccessible to all but the most determined -- on mountaintops, deep forests, and solitary islands. Even then, though, people would seek them out in dire need, until at last they seemed to disappear from Ardrana altogether about two centuries ago. The last known conclave was in perhaps the most isolated place of all, the Bottom of the World.

In the years since, some few have reported encountering members of The Hume in various places, but upon returning to that place they found themselves unable to locate them again. No one who has actively sought them out since their disappearance has found them, or if they have, they do not tell of the encounter.
