'''Calestra os'Sarani''' was a [[Lastini]] noblewoman. She was the only daughter of Queen [[Caldrana]], the first Lastini ruler of [[Mentoncha (country)|Mentoncha]], and her successor to the throne and leadership of [[House os'Sarani]]. She was succeeded by her own daughter, [[Kintana os'Sarani|Kintana]].

Calestra is credited with making the first successful connection with the world outside of the Lastini's new lands in [[Lanad i'Sarois]], journeying by ship to [[Rogariel]]. She was so moved by the outpouring of aid by the people of Rogariel that her perspective of self-sufficiency for her people dramatically shifted to that of cooperation with other peoples. The experience proved quite insightful for the princess, hence the tradition of the [[Journey of Enlightenment]] was born.

Unfortunately, the later days of Calestra's reign are marred by a religious schism. Calestra encouraged the acceptance of deities other than those which were worshiped in the Lastini homeland of [[Matria]]. This angered many of her subjects, and a group that included [[Serena]], the High Priestess of [[Midella]], [[Second Matrian Migration|departed]], eventually settling in [[Kimelis]]. It was soon after this event that Calestra abdicated in favor of Kintana. She passed away only a few months later.
