Calestra os'Sarani

From Ardrana

Calestra os'Sarani was a Lastini noblewoman. She was the only daughter of Queen Caldrana, the first Lastini ruler of Mentoncha, and her successor to the throne and leadership of House os'Sarani. She was succeeded by her own daughter, Kintana.

Calestra is credited with making the first successful connection with the world outside of the Lastini's new lands in Lanad i'Sarois, journeying by ship to Rogariel. She was so moved by the outpouring of aid by the people of Rogariel that her perspective of self-sufficiency for her people dramatically shifted to that of cooperation with other peoples. The experience proved quite insightful for the princess, hence the tradition of the Journey of Enlightenment was born.

Unfortunately, the later days of Calestra's reign are marred by a religious schism. Calestra encouraged the acceptance of deities other than those which were worshiped in the Lastini homeland of Matria. This angered many of her subjects, and a group that included Serena, the High Priestess of Midella, departed, eventually settling in Kimelis. It was soon after this event that Calestra abdicated in favor of Kintana. She passed away only a few months later.
