Gar bears are a species native to the MidLands. They tend to be slow and fat, a bit like smaller panda bears, with fur of various shades of brown. They are herbivorous, and generally stick to woodlands, where they have few predators.
Gar bears are considered something of a pest by Humans, because they tend to ruin their farmland and gardens, but are often kept as pets or guard beasts by Halflings. The Grazhnakh delight in tormenting these creatures, and they often refer to themselves as the tribe of Gar-Bears Orcs.
