Petrell Maranthis is a noblewoman from Wendingham. She is the younger sister of the current Lord Wendingham, Barton Maranthis. Though she never married, she has a daughter, Shimwell, whom she adopted after finding her on the doorstep of the family's estate. Shimwell, who is half-Elven, brought no end of joy to Petrell's life until that fateful day when she foresaw the death of Petrell's father, Evandon. After the premonition came true, Shimwell fled the town, never to return.
