BowMate

The BowMate is a self-contained magical bow created by the Master Bowyer, Sheldon Archer. The bow, when not in use, is a thin box about the length of a short sword. When the bow is in use, two ends automatically extend from the box to create the bow-shaft. To fire an arrow, one simply needs to press their thumb on a notch directly behind the arrow-site and an arrow appears and streaks towards its intended target at the user's silent mental command. The device is not fool-proof and arrows will go astray if proper aiming is not used.

The bow is currently available in short and long bow varieties. Crossbow versions are still in the development stage.

Special preparation and care is put into each bow made and only the individual who contributes the necessary materials can use it. What the "material" is that makes for such a unique bow, is not readily discussed until a definite purchase is arranged.

In addition to the basic BowMate, charge rings can be bought that enhance the arrows shot out of the bow itself. The rings attach to the bow by an unknown force and can only be removed by the bow's owner with a press of the thumb.

At present, there are four ring types:

• A black ring that increases the ability of the BowMate's user to make an accurate shot with each charge expended.
• A grey smoke-colored ring that enchants the fired arrow to produce a cloud of smoke upon impact
• A green ring that causes a single arrow shot to multiply into three arrows
• A reddish-orange ring that causes the resulting enchanted arrow to explode in a ball of fire upon impact

A fifth ring which combines the latter two is still being perfected.
