Essar Telva was a Human merchant and nobleman originally from the town of Bollimer. However, he is best known as being the founder of the line of Telvan Dukes, which for nearly two centuries ruled the city of Gascar.
While Gascar records Telva as its founder, the settlement had existed for centuries, since a few decades after the destruction of Senepoli. However, it was Essar who organized the city's defenses and formed trading pacts with other cities on Lanad i'Sarois's east coast as far south as Tannekor. With the profits from these dealings, Essar built what is now Castle Telva on the south bank of the Laburnum River. Upon his death, his holdings were inherited by his son Wyell.
