Anubis

Anubis was a deity of the Old Varrians, the civilization that inhabited the area which is now the Cardillic Desert in the days before the Great Cataclysm of the Second Civilization. As with most of their culture, only fragments of knowledge about Anubis remain. He is depicted as a man with the head of a jackal, and was responsible for collecting souls for transportation to the house of the dead. He is believed to still exist, charged with the duty of guarding the remains of fallen gods against desecration, but this has not been confirmed.
