Bargle

Bargle was a human mage, originally from the city of Glespi, who was more of a charlatan than a real talent. He was not accepted by his fellow townsfolk, and fled south into Faxanadu. There, he built a stronghold along the Vorilon River in the town of Mloi Wheeler, but was driven out of that by a band of adventurers some twenty years ago.

Bargle eventually made a pact with the githyanki. As a native of Ardrana, he agreed to help them discover how to use Black Razor, which had come into their possession somehow. The githyanki broke their agreement when they thought they had learned its secrets, and killed him.
