Oreoid

Oreoid, better known as Big O, is a Human fighter originally from the town of Shudd. He was born with a hunched back, for which he was taunted throughout his youth. As he grew up, he tried to fight back, but was often beaten up by both Human and Orcish bullies. He vowed to some day become strong enough to beat up his tormentors in turn.

Once, having had enough, Oreoid tried to run away, but was caught by an Orcish patrol. They decided to have some sport with him, cutting out his tongue and abandoning him in the forest near the Old Gnome Road. There, he was found by a traveling circus, who took him in. He soon became friends with Windellad, the circus' ringmaster, who helped him to become the company's strong man. He is often introduced as a half-ogre, playing off his impressive size and apparently unrefined speech.

Oreoid also developed a talent for pantomime to make up for his nearly unintelligible speech, and sometimes dresses up as large beasts as part of the clown's performances. Despite his rough appearance, he has a taste for the finer things in life, and has a particular appreciation for art. He enjoys the traveling life, and now accompanies Windellad when they go out into the country looking for new talent, serving as both assistant and bodyguard for the Elven rogue.
