Pei Ling

The city of Pei Ling is located in central Tyllan, on the fringes of the Cardillic Desert. By some quirk, the land around the city is more fertile than most of Tyllan, and thus provides much of the food for the area, as well as for trade with the cities of the Seven Deserts.

Pei Ling is guarded by a benevolent dragon which has been seen by few outsiders. This seems to be true in part because it draws its power from the city itself in some way, and it therefore must remain nearby, thus forming a symbiotic relationship with the inhabitants. The true nature of the dragon is unknown, but it is rumored that it is actually some kind of shapechanging creature.
