Jafar

Jafar was the grand vizier to Bobo Al'Hamed, the Sultan of Agrabah. He had some skill in enchantment, and had a vast array of magical devices which he used to attempt to seize the throne not long ago. The attempt was thwarted by Aladdin, an advisor to the sultan and consort to his daughter, Jasmine, along with his genie, Genie. A second attempt, during which Jafar allied himself with the notorious thief Abis Mal, was also turned back with the assistance of Jafar's former pet, a parrot named Iago. It was during this attempt that Jafar was killed when the magical device that gave him power was destroyed.

Jafar was known to be a collector of magical items, and it is said that upon his death he left behind a secret room within Agrabah's royal palace containing many of his ill-gotten goods. If it exists, its location remains unknown.
