Carther is a Lastini noble, the youngest of the three children of Kintana os'Sarani, the former queen of Mentoncha, and her husband, Abrilon. His older sister is Queen Chatha of Mentoncha, while his older brother, Commaranto, is husband to Duquesa Tiburona of Pescara. He is a well-known minstrel in the area, often playing with Dieron.
