Galifem warriors

The Galifem warriors are a band of female warriors who inhabit the island of Galifem in the west-central Golden Ocean. They are said to be chosen from among the most promising female warriors in all of Ardrana, but in practice most of their recruits come from the Seven Deserts.

The Galifems are ruled by Queen Hippsodeth, who chooses new recruits personally. Their method of choosing such recruits is rather blunt, in that they first extend an invitation to the recruit, and if it is turned down, they will kidnap her and bring her to the island to be trained. There, they learn the secrets of the Bow of the Galifems, and are taught how to ride pegasi.

The Galifems currently have a loose alliance with the city-state of Agrabah. Sultan Bobo Al'Hamed earned Hippsodeth's respect by defeating her in single combat, and the two have developed something of a romantic relationship as well, following the Galifems' attempt to recruit Princess Jasmine.
