Laeral

Laeral is a half-Elven wizard, originally from the city of Loran. She currently serves as the Dean of Divination at the Jar-Kahni School of Arcane Knowledge, where she is the second-longest serving dean after Tasirin. She was the first appointment made by Jhessail, the current president and her predecessor as Dean of Divination. She and Tasirin were the last to be required to pass through the Threefold Trial, which Jhessail eliminated. At the time, there was only one deanship open, and it was Tasirin who passed into it, leaving Laeral to be appointed later.

Laeral is quite stout for a half-elf, which has earned her no small amount of scorn from her Elven cousins. There are those who say that she learned her craft while attempting to discover those cousins were preparing their next prank to play on her, but in truth it was known from a young age that she was gifted in the divinatory arts. She adventured for many years, and some fifteen years ago she and her trusty horse Zunic found their way to Jar-Kahn, where she has been a fixture ever since.
