Seraphus Nephilum

Seraphus Nephilum is a cleric -- not a priest devoted to any particular god, but a cleric nonetheless -- who hails from the city of Sigil. He is also a tiefling, and claims that he is not aware of his family origins, but he knows that he has some obvious abyssal characteristics and has only begun to guess at the obvious advantages (and disadvantages) of the traits that have manifested. Among those traits are a pair of demonic wing that are so dark they actually seem to be darkness. He also has been known to issue forth from his body a small homonculus.

Seraphus considers himself a holy man (indeed, he often refers to himself as "Cardinal"), and is of a very strict neutral bent. His life and everything he does involves balancing the ethical and the unethical, the just and the corrupt. For every good deed there must be one that is foul. His actions are almost always covert and subtle. He would rather organize a war than challenge a gentleman to single combat. He always prefers to move through others. He is not overly violent, and keeps his emotions bottled up and restrained.

Seraphus does not often adventure, but when he does it is for good reason. Why he chose to accompany Allegra Brownstoke on her recent mission is still a mystery, but since its abrupt end he has returned to his shadowy dealings in Sigil.
