Spider (thief)

Spider is a Human thief, originally from the city of Aralkhis. She operated there for many years, eventually rising to nearly the top of the local thieves' guild, but she was never chosen as its leader. One day, she received an invitation from the Jar-Kahni School of Arcane Knowledge to join two of their prospective deans, Laeral and Tasirin, on the adventuring portion of their Threefold Trial. Following this, she chose to leave the guild and Aralkhis.

After wandering for a while, she found herself in the city of Qith, which had been broken by the forces of the Onyx Empire during the Wars of Arin. Under the alias Tewestra, Spider involved herself in the politics of the city, and has maneuvered her way into becoming its mayor. From that position, she has been trying to gather more of the towns of eastern Tanilon to resist the unification calls of Wyman Palomedes and retain their sovereignty. Thus far, she has had a fair amount of success, and her personal power continues to grow.
