Jhessail
From Ardrana
Jhessail is a Human mage, originally from the town of Jeheren. He is the current president of the Jar-Kahni School of Arcane Knowledge. He was selected to replace Torian, who retired four years ago. It is said that Torian hand-picked him to be his successor, knowing that he would do what was necessary to set the school on "a new course". Prior to that, Jhessail was the Dean of Divination, a post to which he appointed Laeral.
Over the two years following his selection, Jhessail went about reviewing the deans of the various schools, and replaced nearly all with persons of his own choosing. He claimed that he simply wanted a fresh start, but the rumor is that both Torian and Jhessail were concerned that the school had delved too much into the darker arcane arts, or perhaps that Jhessail, being a diviner, saw some future event that required such a wholesale turnover. The only dean to remain are Tasirin, the Dean of Enchantment, and the only other to remain at the school is Qwinn, the former Dean of Illusion.
Prior to his appointment as dean, Jhessail served as guildmaster of the Mages' Guild of Hanmer for several years. He has one son, Jeveth, who is currently also a professor at Jar-Kahn, in the School of Abjuration.
