Alleen Brownstoke

Alleen Brownstoke was, as the wife of Count Wildigar Brownstoke, titled Countess of Pallinnore. In her youth, she was a mage of some repute, a trait she passed on to her only child, Lady Allegra Brownstoke. Much of her life was dedicated to teaching her daughter the ways of magecraft, right up until the land was destroyed by a band of marauding orcs.

As she lay dying in her daughter's arms, Alleen made to Allegra her final gift: The Brownstoke Book. The book, she said, had been bequeathed to her by her mentor, Annandale. She also told her daughter of the key that would open the book, which had been lost long ago, but that Allegra must find once she would turn eighteen, a week later. Following her death, Allegra was left in the care of the count's brother, Kendar Brownstoke.
