Kendar Brownstoke

Lord Kendar Brownstoke is a Human nobleman from the town of Sylennore, where he lives with his wife, Cloey, and his three daughters -- the eldest, Morinda, is fourteen years of age, while the others are eleven and nine. He is the lord of a large tract of land surrounding Sylennore between Nazivonema and Vesqui along the East-West Road. He also serves as Steward of the area to the east around the ruins of Pallinnore.

Kendar's brother was the late Wildigar Brownstoke, and upon the deaths of Will and his wife, Alleen, took responsibility for their daughter, Allegra. He has provided financial support for her journeys, as well as occasionally prevailing upon his contacts with the White Army in Vesqui to grant guards for his niece.

Recently, Kendar has been under pressure from Mirdael Hanaestor to break away from the White Alliance and enter into an alliance under the banner of Hanaellan. This pressure has mounted as a number of nobles to the north and east have accepted the Duke's overtures. While he has generally been a stout ally of the White Alliance, he has also been pressed to make his relationship with them a formal one. He has to date refused, not wanting to give up his independence by becoming a vassal of Fitzky do Barra, the Duke of Vesqui, and this has soured that relationship, though to what extent is not well known.
