Baley

Baley was an Elven druid who was the protector of Shael i'Vor during the time of the Fire Wars, around six hundred years ago. Legends about Baley abound, but one thing that is known with near certainty is that, in response to that great conflagration, he founded The Cabal, and was the first Grand Druid, overseeing the working of all druids of Ardrana. Legends say that Baley was taught the way of the Druid by Vodyus himself, disguised as an Elf who called himself "The Woodsman".

Most of the legends of Baley revolve around this era. One is that he was the savior of the entire population of unicorns, which was being threatened. He did this by herding them onto a great peninsula, then causing that peninsula to split off from the mainland of Lanad i'Sarois, creating the island of Vorilsha. In the center of that island is a circle devoid of trees, known as Baley's Clearing, where celebrations of nature are held.

As the Fire Wars neared their end, a great evil was unleashed upon Shael i'Vor, called the Red Bull. Baley went into single combat with the creature, and he was killed, though he injured the creature so severely it did not return for over five hundred years. After his death, Baley was chosen by Vodyus as one of his proxies.
