The Cabal

The Cabal is an organization of high-ranking druids established over five hundred years ago. It is presided over by the Grand Druid, currently an aquatic elf named Ellassinna'a, who is joined by the nine Great Druids of Ardrana, along with three other druids chosen by the Grand Druid. They meet annually for three days in Baley's Clearing on the island of Vorilsha.

The Cabal was established by Baley in response to the devastating conflagration that nearly destroyed Shael i'Vor. Baley determined that in order for the natural order to be protected, the druidic order must band together under one banner. He called together the most powerful druids on Ardrana, and together they formed The Cabal to oversee druidic activity throughout the world.

The nine Great Druids each represent a type of terrain. Below is a list of their names, and the terrain they represent:

Since Baley's death, there have been eleven Grand Druids. Most were former Great Druids of the Forest, but Ellassinna'a was Great Druid of the Oceans, which has caused some discomfort on the part of Versan and his predecessor, Venatis. Nobody else has expressed such feelings, however, and indeed many feel it was time for a change.
