Calirain

Calirain is a Human generalist mage from the town of Hebridon. He is the son of Cesteril, the town's lord, and is the best friend of Rhone, a garath of Shoto who is the son of an armorer and brewer who works for his father. The two are together so often that they are sometimes mistaken for brothers.

Calirain has always been a scholar, and typically can be found with his nose in a book. At a young age, he was sent to Nazivonema to study at Tarkus Academy, and his friend Rhone accompanied him, apprenticing to a local brewer. Now that he has qualified for membership in the local mages' guild, Calirain works at the Academy to earn money to pay his dues.

However, like Rhone, he has become enamored of the idea of adventuring. He tried to help his friend organize an adventuring party, but when that fell apart he decided to join him on his quest for atonement with Qi'ante.
