Kinwood Scott

Kinwood Scott, affectionately known to his friends as Scotty, was the last duke of Kimelis from the Scott line. He reigned for only a few years after the death of his father, Duke Leeman, before his death in the latter days of the Wars of Arin.

Born to Duke Leeman and his wife Galea, Kinwood had trained in his youth to be a knight, but was unable to make the grade, thus becoming a bit of an embarrassment to his father. During his training days, he struck up a close friendship with another trainee, Roderick Harper, who was a year ahead of him in the program. Harper, too, was disappointed when Scotty fell short, for he had wanted him for his squire. Still, he chose Scotty, who had since trained as a scout and tracker, to accompany him on a number of quests for the duchy.

When Duke Leeman died in a siege of the city during one of these quests, Kinwood grew up very quickly. He assumed the throne, and acquitted himself quite well, showing a bit of a knack for military strategy. He was instrumental in aiding Sir Roderick in devising the defenses that won the Battle of Kimelis, allowing the army to move across country to aid in the defense of the Filitir Forest, the battle in which Scotty fell. As his final act, he granted the title of Duke of Kimelis to his old friend, Sir Roderick.
