The Barrens

The Barrens is the name given to the area of uninhabitable land surrounding the walled city of Imor in north-central Ardann i'Parastha. The Barrens comprise an area of nearly a thousand miles from north to south, and a bit less than that from east to west. It is said that the area, also known as Eksaer, was laid waste during the Great Magic War several centuries ago. Very few undertake the overland journey to Imor, which is located about four hundred miles from the northern fringe, but occasionally a caravan from Drev will make the journey.

Of late, the journey has become perhaps even more perilous, as evidence has been discovered that creatures both great and small have begun making their home here, often preying upon passing travelers. A great effort is being organized in Imor and in Drev to cleanse the land of these pests, with an eventual goal of making the area arable once more.
