Veclin

Veclin was a famed explorer who founded the city of Veclinnius, and is generally known as the Father of Tanilon. Legend tells it that Veclin turned a group of scattered settlements into a unified nation over three hundred years ago. His descendants ruled the land until the Wars of Arin, which splintered the country.

Originally from the city of Glespi, he and several followers, tired of the rulership of the city's iron-fisted lord, set out northward along the Vorilon River to its headwaters in the Onyl Mountains. There, they began to build their own city, which became Veclinnius. Veclin himself continued exploring northward, discovering the gap in the midst of the mountains that today bears his name. He eventually settled down in his capital, where he and his wife lived to a ripe old age.
