Medina

Medina is a Lastini businesswoman who plies her trade as a privateer. Born in Mentoncha to a Human father and Lastini mother, she has spent most of her life in Rogariel, which she considers her home. She operates a business, consisting of three sailing ships operating out of the island of Hensoji, ferrying passengers and cargo around the coasts of the southern Lanad.

Background

Medina doesn't talk of her past, but when she does she tends to speak more of her father, Az'arel, in whose roguish footsteps she has taken pride in walking. She had no desire to stay with her mother, a clothing merchant in Mentoncha named Rasara, and so moved with her father to his home of Rogariel at a very young age.. She learned the ways of the sea as her father took on different jobs aboard the sailing ships in the area. When her father was lost overboard, it strengthened her determination to remain a part of the mariner's world.

Business career

Her first ship, the S.S. Intrepido, was given to her by a local captain upon his retirement. A couple of years ago, Medina promoted her first mate, Tashbar, into her business partner, giving him the captaincy of the Intrepido. She then purchased a second ship, the S.S. Impresa, which she now captains. Thus, she expanded her business venture to both coasts of the Lanad, with the Intrepido working the Living Ocean while the Impresa plies its trade in Medina's home waters of the Golden Ocean.

Earlier this year, Medina added the S.S. Futeki to her fleet, captained by Kazuo, another former first mate of hers. This third ship charts its course up and down the Hanaelon River between Hanmer and Morelenas, mostly transporting cargo between the towns along its banks. Of course, Medina's always got her eye out for new business opportunities.
