Jek

Jeks are small, humanoid creatures, about the same size as Gnomes. They generally have greenish skin, pointed ears, and no bodily hair. They were once quite numerous on Ardrana, but their population has been devastated by wars, hunting by larger humanoids, and other calamities. They are now found mostly in the UnderWorld, although some exist in remote or otherwise uninhabited regions. Among the wise, Jeks are enumerated as one of the eight Races of Antiquity, along with Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Halflings, Gnomes, Karis and Lastini.

There are many rumors about the Jeks, as they are not well known by most people. They are known to revere Nevis, the god of death, which some take to mean and that they are of an evil nature. Others say that they are peaceful, and only fight to protect themselves, and that their worship of Nevis is simply recognition of the fact that death has become part of their everyday life.
