Maximillian Rookhaven

Maximillian Rookhaven was a Human nobleman and adventurer from the city of Rabk. Known in his adventuring days as "The Gentleman Thief", he was the second child and eldest son of Synathan Rookhaven, Baron of Rabk during the early days of the Wars of Arin. As the wars progressed, Baron Synathan's domain was extended to include a large portion of east-central Kellan by King Tristan I to reward the Rookhaven family for their service, and the region became the present-day Duchy of Rabk.

Maximillian's sister, Tasha, became Duchess following their father's death, but she renounced her title upon marrying Morley Pallianor, leader of the White Council, and it fell to Maximillian to take up the title. He was quite happy to retire, allowing him to continue his life as something of a rich playboy. Although he was said to have sired several children, he never married, and when he died about thirty years ago his various offspring fell to fighting amongst themselves for his inheritance. To put a stop to it, Milvey Pallianor, then head of the Council, asserted his authority, bypassing all of them as well as other high-ranking nobles to appoint the current Duke, Zybourn.
