Voldann Forest

The Voldann Forest, or more precisely simply "The Voldann", is a forest in west-central Lanad i'Sarois. It lies along the border between Idrellan and Faxanadu, though the exact location of the border within the forest is a subject of some dispute. It lies on either side of the Vorilon River before that river turns southward toward its mouth at Eolis.

The name "Voldann" means "red forest". There are several reasons that have been presented regarding why it earned this name, but most accept that it is due to the bright red color most of the forest displays in the fall. However, during the early part of the Wars of Arin, the name took on another meaning, as it was the site of a brutal battle between Morjec's forces and the Karis.
