Ki-rin clan

The Ki-rin clan are, along with the Dragon clan, one of the most powerful of the Thirteen Clans of Jiberia. Led by their warlord, Yano Sukoto, they control a large area in the central part of the peninsula, bordered on the west by the lands of the Dragon clan, on the south by the Crane clan, on the northeast by the Tiger clan, on the southeast by the Bear clan, and on the north by the Crab clan. Their main city, Umachi, is at the center of the peninsula, and is the largest city in the region.

The Ki-rin have had a friendly -- and sometimes not-so-friendly -- rivalry with the Dragon clan over primacy among the Thirteen Clans. Lord Yano and Lady Hitomi, the warlord of the Dragon, have often seen their aims in opposition over the years, leading to something of a personal rivalry between them as well. The clan philosophies also differ, with the Dragon favoring power through military strength and the Ki-rin favoring soft power through diplomacy.
