Returning to Return to Ruisti

This adventure involved Alysten and her compatriots returning to Nazivonema following the ending of their previous mission and parting of ways from Allegra Brownstoke. They came there to attempt to have Nevyn raised following his accidental death at the hands of Alysten. While there, they made contact with NightShade, an Elven thief who had worked with Nevyn. Along with her sister, Gabriella, they joined the party. The group also encountered a gnome named Tarney, who also joined them. George, meanwhile, left the group and returned to Hanmer, where he intended to meet up with Koku after getting her out of prison once more.

The party approached the Allied Temples about resurrecting Nevyn, and Laremand agreed. In exchange, the Allied Temples asked them to go back once more to Ruisti Forest and the temple of Kuraliskar there, which they had abandoned on Alysten's death on their previous visit.

Zin Findel and Frank Brandybuck began re-consecrating the altar in the main temple while the others explored the entrance to the the tunnels that connected the temple to the UnderWorld. They were attacked by an ochre jelly, which caused the usual chaos, resulting in Alysten shrinking herself to three feet in height for a time.

After the consecration was complete, the whole party entered the tunnels, where they were attacked by giant rats. After Glenthalos chased them away with an audible glamer of a giant cat, the party continued.

Eventually, the party made its way back to the area where they had encountered the dark elves some time ago. There, they discovered increased activity, and proceeded to the antechamber where they had previously encountered Varlann, the drow leader. They discovered that the door was trapped, which Nevyn set off while attempting to disarm it. Hit by a poisoned dart, Nevyn was treated by Alysten, who was able to use herbs to partially counteract the poison in his system, but it was determined that he would likely be dead within a week.

Tampering with the door set off an audible alarm, so the party decided to charge into the antechamber. There, they discover a toad-like tanar'ri which had apparently been summoned by the Servants of Kuraliskar. Alysten attempts to cast catapult, but winds up disintegrating the desk behind which the party had taken cover. She did so a second time, but this time caused the demon to levitate instead. The demon proceeded to use cause fear on Alysten, sending her running out of the room. Both Zahn and Zin Findel were taken down by the creature before the party finally defeated it.

After healing, the party faced a large-scale battle involving a group of bugbears. The party killed most, but were able to capture the lead bugbear who had been working in the temple, who was brought to the Allied Temples for questioning.
