The Purple Rose

This adventure began several years before it actually began. With her dying words, Countess Alleen Brownstoke told her then 11-year-old daughter, Allegra, told her daughter of The Brownstoke Book, an ancient tome belonging to her family. She told her the location of the Purple Rose, beneath which the key to the book was hidden.

Allegra spent the rest of her youth in Vesqui, and upon her coming of age, she resolved to find the Rose and the key. To that end, she recruited her friend Quark and one of her magic instructors, Meldani, to accompany her. Her uncle, Kendar, insisted that her bodyguard Duncan Scorpio accompany her, along with two members of the White Army, Bodon and Xylda, to serve as guards.

The group came to the wild lands south of Semmarch, where a secret chamber had recently been discovered beneath the forest floor. Within, Allegra found and was able to retrieve the rose, but only after the entire complex nearly caved in on her and her party. The key, however, was no longer there, although a parchment found with the rose provided more information to help locate it.
