Zorg

From Ardrana

Zorg is a human paladin dedicated to Severn, the Lord of the Forge. He is also the general in command of all the armies of Braith, and as such is one of the ten captains of the White Army. As such, he is technically under the command of Zachriel, but generally that structure is not recognized by either Braith nor the Dwarves of Thorin's clan with whom the city is closely allied.

Early life

Zorg was born in the city of Arain, the second son of the great hero Xorg. While still in their youth, Xorg saw the great military minds of his two eldest sons, Zorg and Borg, and appointed them to command the royal navy and army respectively. Since the Vorilon River was the easiest method of getting to the city due to the surrounding terrain, the admiralty was considered the more important position, and Zorg was quite good at it. During the Wars of Arin, Zorg would move the fleet up and down the river, harrying the forces of the Onyx Empire pretty much at will. Zorg was no slouch on land either, and it was he who fought alongside his father in his final battles during the Wars of Arin, while Borg stayed behind to defend the city. Although this was nowhere near the beginning of the rivalry between the two brothers, it was probably the point that caused the most bitterness, as Borg envied -- and to an extend, still envies -- the place of his younger brother.

Fall of Arain

Still, the two brothers spent most of their youth adventuring together, along with Thorin Archer and Dorin the Axeman, the eldest sons of Thorin Orchammer. During these adventures, Zorg befriended the bronze dragon Cathadramus, who occasionally serves as his mount. Roderick Harper and Madricus and Leviticus Pallianor often joined them, and together they were among those who chased the wizard Keraptis to his demise. However, while they were away, the remnants of the armies of the Onyx Empire had lain waste to Arain. It was then that Thorin Archer, now leader of his clan, invited Zorg and his people to live in the Thair Mountains, where they built the city of Braith.

Some would say that was Zorg's undoing. Since Braith had no rivers or oceans, Zorg's expertise at naval combat was now nearly worthless. When the city chose to live under military rule, it was Borg who became the city's ruler and not Zorg, the hereditary ruler of his people. Zorg refocused his combat skills on leading the aerial defenses of the city. Together with Cathadramus, Zorg made a pact with a family of bronze dragons, on which a select few members of the army would be allowed to ride in order to patrol the skies above Braith and watch for invaders. While some might consider this a great accomplishment, it seems not to have satisfied the proud paladin.

Current info

Today, things are much as they have been since the end of the Wars of Arin. Zorg, now well into middle age, is still the commander of the city's dragon riders, and still feuds with his brother. Zorg also has a much closer relationship to King Thorin than his brother, who himself is more akin to Dorin. Zorg also keeps close counsel with Torg, Xorg's third son, who serves as his second-in-command.

Zorg was a PC played by Kevin Clark who is now an NPC.
